FTLY = Faster Than Last Year – at THIS race.

Age-graded time is done for the exact year (with 2 decimal positions) of racer’s age, rather than by the 10-year age division the runner is in, calculated on WMA website, choose correct distance (e.g., “5 mile road” if a road, not track, race); fill in other appropriate fields, separating hours, minutes and seconds by colons; Ages are calculated to one one-hundredth because there is often such a closeness in age-graded times that a finer age-graded computation than 2-digit ages is more accurate. Plus, you get a faster age-graded time this way!
– POINTS for ONLY ONE GP RACE per MONTH are counted towards your total; if you run a marathon, half-m, or ultra, then the points for any one of those are to be used IN PLACE of that month’s GP race points – unless that race’s pts are higher.
Did We Miss You?
If you ran this race but don’t see your name here, please contact Tom or Eric (GrandPrix@gfrcrun.org) by Aug. 10, the date beyond which GP points will not be awarded (contact us at grandprix [at] gfrcrun.com) Because this does happen — members not noticed in the results — the above point totals usually have to be considered tentative for the next week.

…….JIM JONES………………….37:27…65.13…..58.08….21……………………3rd M60-69 (of 18)…………….. The WAVA you might’ve noticed is slightly different for men and women. This is because its values for men are derived from a different standard than that for women. “Any other July 4th race”
qualifies as a Grand Prix point earner (therefore, the Needham, Sudbury and Kennebunkport races shown at end). – Age-graded time is done for the exact year (with 2 decimal positions) of racer’s age, rather than by the 10-year age division the runner is in, calculated on WMA website, choose correct distance (e.g., “5 mile road” if a road, not track, race); fill in other appropriate fields, separating hours, minutes and seconds by colons; Ages are calculated to one one-hundredth because there is often such a closeness in age-graded times that a finer age-graded computation than 2-digit ages is more accurate. 26 X 1 Marathon Cup Challenge

June 11, 2017, 8:30 a.m. to ~11:30-ish. Hormel Stadium, Medford, MA; 26 1600-meter legs (plus 0.37 mile first “start-off leg”)
Final age-graded times and final GP points just about set as you see them here (could be an error in there – it’s happened before! Around 1998, I think. Give or take a year or two.) TED TYLER and MARY took hundreds of photos of the whole event, and got us around 4 times in each of our 1600 meter legs. They’re on JimRhoades.com. Legs are listed here in order they were run.

Framingham Police Chase 5K

Saturday, May 20, 2017, 9 a.m.; Cushing Park, Framingham GP points assigned below are probably more than just close to accurate.
As the race neared Cushing during Mile 3, runners near the lead were NOT DIRECTED to turn right into an un-signed entrance into Cushing – and 20 or so continued up Dudley Road for about a Half MILE before turning and running back another half mile to that correct turn! Among them were Bruce Hardy, Garrett Coffin, Jay Powell and John Joyce. (the lead runner in the race – Mike McDonald – was SO FAR in the lead, that runners behind him could not see him – and the lights-on-patrol-car-guide – turn into Cushing! So, they all kept going straight, until someone discovered the error and redirected the rest of the field. BAD error by the race.
Ted Tyler took 363 photos of the race, which are on Jimrhoades.com; Bob Cargill took dozens more – posted on Facebook

* PACES ADJUSTED FOR THOSE MISTAKENLY LED A MILE OFF THE COURSE (Doesn’t change GP points scoring)
FTLY + Faster Than Last Year – at THIS race.

If you ran this race but don’t see your name here, please contact Tom or Eric (GrandPrix@gfrcrun.org) by May 31, the date beyond which GP points will not be awarded (contact us at grandprix [at] gfrcrun.com) Because this does happen — members not noticed in the results — the above point totals usually have to be considered tentative for the next week.
